About 6 1/2 years ago (yikes!), I posted an old obituary published for the death of Maria Longstreet, the first wife of famed Confederate General James Longstreet . In October last, I had the opportunity to stand where mourners stood more than 120 years ago to say their final goodbyes to the "distinguished Georgia lady."
