Welcome to Southern Graves
I am an amateur genealogist and history enthusiast with a deep passion for the "art of dying," funeral customs, and the silent stories found in cemeteries. While I maintain another project specifically for Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, Georgia, as well as a personal genealogy blog, this is my space to tell the tales of tombstones on a broader scale.
I believe every marker—whether stone, paper, or oral tradition—has a history worth preserving, and I love digging into the historical context behind the names. When I am not exploring graveyards or researching archives, I work a full-time job, tend to my garden, and care for my dog and cat.
Thank you for visiting and helping keep these memories alive.
