Southern Graves

This is technically the last post I'll be writing for the challenge because Z is already in the queue.  I could not find a single Y idea to satisfy me, so today is a hodgepodge. The first two Ys are from epitaphs.  Both come from tombstones placed in Harmony – Smyrna Cemetery at Dooly County, Georgia.  As far as I can tell, however, there is no relation between the two individuals.  First up is a dear mother whose name is Lucy Taylor. This is a horrible picture, I know.  Under normal circumstances, it would not make it's way on to the blog.  "But it fits the letter F so well," she whines… According to his FindAGrave memorial (which, btw, has a better photo -- and also begins with the letter F ), Fred was a private in Company C of the 55th Georgia Infantry during the Civil War. The Vienna News (Georgia) carried notice of Frederick's death in their 24 February 1904 issue (pg. 4, column 3): MR. F. F. FLOYD DIES. Mr. F. F. Floyd, a prominent farmer of near Midway, passed away at his home Monday night.  His death was unexpected as he was not thought to be very sick.  He had been complaining about a week and the sudden change is thought to have been from an attack of heart failure. His death is universally regretted by the citizens of that community. Frederick F. Floyd rests at Mount Olive Cemetery in Dooly County, Georgia. This beautiful stone can be found at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins, Houston County, Georgia: John 14: 1-3 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
