Just a couple of quick notes: (1) The Georgia State Archives has added Non-Indexed Death Certificates, 1928-1930 to Georgia's Virtual Vault . From the site: "This Death Certificate search system is provided as an interim solution until the records for 1928-1930 can be indexed and added to the Death Certificate Collection. Many users have asked for these records, so we are providing them with scanned images of the original Vital Records index." I would like to highlight another of his posts, Floating Memories: A Ghost Month Tradition in America . It is an interesting subject with beautiful photos and an equally beautiful video from Hawaii. I will highlight a website I was just introduced to for this Follow Friday . It is the Gravestone Photo Project . Per the homepage, "The Gravestone Photo Project (GPP) is a PHP software project that was designed to provide a web-based archive of aging gravestone images." Actually, the software is no longer available for download. But! Several states (23) did so before it was taken off the market. The following southern states are included, and I encourage you to check them out and add them to your research bookmarks: - Arkansas Gravestones (over 205,200 records) - Florida Gravestones (over 12,300 records) - Louisiana Gravestones (over 1,700 records) - Virginia Gravestones (over 14,900 records)

Sheri Fenley at The Educated Graveyard Rabbit posted about a "new-to-her" website about cemeteries in North Carolina. It's "new-to-me," too, so I thought I'd pass along the information. Cemetery Census is run by a group of volunteers who are posting burial records from local cemeteries online. The work has been going on for more than ten years, and the site is extensive. Thank-you, Sheri, for letting us know about this great website.
